There is a new article about “Hero” on the search dog website. I will post the link below for folks, Hero is with the LA Sheriff’s department and is a FEMA certified search dog, trained by Pluis Davern. She is a Jewel pup from her litter of ten, four of which were raised as search and rescue dogs, out of those four “Hero” and her sister “Echo” have certified as FEMA advanced search and rescue dogs. Jewel is sired by “Brodie”, Ch. Raintree Slippery When Wet JH- Brodie produced some of the finest Labradors in the breed and instilled a work ethic that was previously almost impossible to find in a “show” dog. You can see what the Hyspire folks have done with these lines - www.hyspire.com These kids have brains and beauty. The combination of Brodie and Poppy is the foundation of Matilija Labradors. Hero and Echo are of course not the first, their aunt “Rosa” who was also trained by Pluis Davern is Jewel’s full sister.
